Many bloggers sell their writing, editing and other services as freelancers. Others use their blogs are a platform for writing and selling books. If you are in either of these camps, you won’t want to miss this FREE webinar How to Sell Your Freelance Services on Writer.ly on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
Writer.ly is a relatively new marketplace for connecting authors seeking to self-publish their books and the freelancers or vendors that they need to successfully accomplish their goal. Like other online marketplaces, authors post requests for bids on their projects and service providers bid on the work. The author selects the bid and bidder best suited to their needs and budget. What makes Writer.ly (which is apparently still in the beta phase) unique is not just that it focuses on the publishing industry, but that members can be both clients (authors) and service providers (freelancers/vendors) using the same account. Most other online marketplaces restrict accounts to one or the other.
The How to Sell your Freelance Services webinar (actually a Google+ Hangout) is a step-by-step tutorial guided by Writer.ly co-founder and COO Abby Carter. There will also be a brief Q&A session following the presentation where you can get more information. The Hangout (webinar) begins at 1 p.m. and should only last a half hour or so. (Disclosure: I am a member of Writer.ly and plan to attend this event.) Instructions for RSVPing to the How to Sell your Freelance Services on Writer.ly webinar are provided on the Google+ Hangout Page, and you need to be a member of the Writer.ly community on Google+ although not necessarily a member of the Writer.ly marketplace in order to attend.
The focus of the How to Sell You Freelance Services on Writer.ly webinar appears to be on those offering services (copyediting, formatting, cover design, marketing/social media, etc.) to authors, however, since you can both bid (sell) and buy from the same Writer.ly account, this is a probably a good session for everyone to attend. With 28 people signed up to attend at the time of this writing, it may also provide some quality networking opportunities for those new to or in the process of building their Google+ presence.
Again, this is a FREE, half hour Google+ Hangout covering How to Sell Your Freelance Services to Authors on Writer.ly. If you are planning to attend, please feel free to add me to your Circles.
